Albert Walter Detterbeck Jr., lovingly known as "Buzzy," was born in Altoona to Albert Walter Detterbeck Sr. and Margaret Delores Kinney.
A devoted family man, Buzzy was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and his brother, Edward.
He is survived by his brother, Patrick and wife, Anita; and his sons: Drew, Douglas and wife, Myra, and Darren. Buzzy's greatest joy was his family. He was a proud grandfather of six; and great-grandfather of 11, taking pride in each of their lives and accomplishments.
He loved playing pool, enjoyed bingo and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Whether spending time with family, sharing stories or cheering for his favorite team, Buzzy appreciated life's simple pleasures.
His life reflects love, loyalty, humor and devotion to those he cherished. His family is thankful for the memories they have shared and the example he continues to set.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nelson Javier, TOR officiating.
Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
