Susan E. Bowers

Surviving are a brother, Rick Bowers of Altoona; a niece, Maria Aikens; a great-niece, Evalyna; and great-nephew, Noah.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas W. Bowers Jr.

Sue was a 1970 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and worked many jobs in her field, from being a secretary for several law offices, dispatcher for the Altoona Police Department and retired as a secretary from the PennDOT permit office.

She was a lifetime member of Berean Baptist Church in Duncansville, where she volunteered in the correspondence office.

Sue enjoyed gardening, cats and cars. She was a kindhearted woman, who loved her family, friends and neighbors.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at noon.

Private interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
