Sally A. Hammond, 86, of Duncansville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Celebration Villa of Altoona, with her family by her side. Born in Pitcairn, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Anna Mae Graham. Sally was a graduate of Pitcairn High School, Class of 1957.

She is survived by her son, Scott Hammond; her daughter, Kristen Damico, wife of Edward; her beloved grandchildren, Anthony Damico and his fiancee, Marissa Ritter, and Sydney Damico; and sister-in-law, Karen Crawford.

Sally dedicated 32 years to education, teaching first through third grade students in the Leechburg and Hollidaysburg school districts.

A woman of deep faith, Sally was a devoted member of First United Presbyterian Church of Hollidaysburg, where she served as a deacon and sang in the adult choir. She was also an active member of the Hollidaysburg Community Chorus, sharing her love of music with others.

Sally was a proud member and officer of Hollidaysburg Chapter #471, Order of the Eastern Star. She considered it a great honor to serve as Worthy Matron from 1995-96. She was also active in Rainbow for Girls beginning at age 18 and was a member of Jobel Court #11, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America.

Friends and family will be received from 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, June 6, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, with Pastor Bruce L. Knorpp officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s memory to the Amedisys Foundation for AseraCare Hospice.
