Patricia Ann ‘Patsy’ Gallagher

Patricia Ann “Patsy” Gallagher, 94, of Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday morning. She was born in Clearfield, daughter of the late Walter and Natalie Straw. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She married Joseph V. Gallagher on July 18, 1953, in Hollidaysburg. Joseph passed away on March 28, 2021. Patsy was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Straw.

Surviving are her seven children: Paul (Anne), Susan Johnston (Donald), Stephen (Susan), Kathleen Dobbins (Dennis), John (Patricia), Richard (Elaine) and Laurie Barr (Joseph); 25 grandchildren: Sarah, Joe, Annie, Scott, Bridget, Colleen, Erin, Kathleen, Kylie, Sean, Brenna, Mollie, Patrick, Katie, Ryan, Colin, Grace, Danny, Kaylie, Jacob, Trent, Rachel, Shannon, Elizabeth and Michael; and 27 great-grandchildren and counting. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joanne Straw; and many nieces and nephews.

Patsy was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lakemont.

She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1949 and the Altoona School of Commerce in 1951.

Patsy worked as the principal’s secretary at Hollidaysburg High School prior to raising her children. She served as the receptionist/secretary at Blair Racquet Club for more than 20 years.

She was a member of the YMCA Auxiliary and the Friends of the Library. After her retirement, she volunteered at Garvey Manor.

Patsy and Joe were married for more than 67 years when Joe passed away. They loved spending time together with their large family and enjoyed the company of many wonderful friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Celebration Village and AseraCare Hospice for taking such great care of our beloved mother.

Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. today, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Vigil service will be held.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at Saint John the Evangelist Church, Lakemont.

Interment will be private at Alto-Reste Park.
