Michael “Mike” Frasca, 86, died June 5, 2026, surrounded by his family in Hampton, Va. Born and raised in Altoona, he was the son of the late Attilio Frasca and Vera Marie Frasca.
Mike played football in school and earned a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). He graduated with a bachelor of science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master of arts from Hampton Institute (Hampton University).
Mike was an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Vietnam War and retired with multiple honors.
Mike later earned his real estate license and worked for the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program (VASAP). He also worked at Anheuser-Busch in
Williamsburg, Va., as a brewing supervisor.
Mike was an avid reader and longtime patron of the public library. Prior to his illness, he was a regular walker/jogger and enjoyed traveling.
Mike will be remembered as a man of profound character, whose life was led by kindness, intelligence, generosity, strength and patience. His steady presence, gentle wisdom and unwavering standards will be missed by all. His love of family, deep admiration for his grandchildren, dedication to friends and patriotism were everything to him.
Surviving are his children: Wendy Pennington (David), James Frasca and Gina Grube (Richard); grandchildren: Colin Pennington (Grace) and Joseph, Brian and Susan Grube; siblings, Carole Reilly and Richard Frasca; his longtime confidant, Patricia Martin, and her daughters, Shannon and Mandy; nieces and nephews: Lisa (Pat), Joseph (Sabrina) and Jennifer (Wayne) Reilly, Maria Reilly White (Beirne) and Christopher (Dani), Ashley and Bri Frasca.
Mike will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
