Lawrence James “Larry” Brisbin, 76, Tyrone, passed away on Saturday.

He was born in Tyrone, son of the late Francis “Boots” and Velma Lucille (Walbridge) Brisbin. On July 23, 1988, he married Amy (Dietrick) Brisbin at the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone.

Surviving are his wife; and two daughters, Christina Brisbin of Pittsburgh and Alyssa Brisbin of San Francisco, Calif. He was the last of his immediate family.

Larry was a 1968 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and a 1972 graduate of Williamsport College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in heavy equipment. He retired from PPG as a glassworker. He was a lifetime member of the Altoona Railroaders Museum and a member of Camp Anderson, where he acted as a trail volunteer. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone.

He was a runner and completed seven marathons. He liked hunting and found joy in listening to music, especially Creedence Clearwater Revival and music from the ’60s. He also enjoyed the companionship of his golden retriever, Buddy.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone. Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone.
