Jeanne Louise (Miller) Bailey, 99, formerly of Altoona, died April 30, 2026, in Salmon, Idaho. Following a decline in health, Jeanne moved to Idaho to be near family in 2019. Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of Agnes (Melhorn) and Carl Miller in Altoona.
Jeanne was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1944.
She married James Bailey in 1947. Together they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Judith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris; her husband, Jim, in 1982; and a daughter, Jennifer, in 2009.
Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker, as well as an employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation before her retirement in 1987.
Jeanne was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Altoona and Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Salmon, Idaho.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Judi (Cecil) Jackson of Salmon, Idaho; son-in-law, Dwight Monn of New Oxford, Pa.; grandchildren: Hillary (Kellen) Gilreath of Helena, Mont., Andrew (Erin) Jackson of Boise, Idaho, and Anne-Louise Monn of Mont Alto; and great-grandchildren, Hayden May and Rylee Lynn of Helena, Mont.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 200 Third Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Traci Marriott officiating.
Interment will be made at Rose Hill Cemetery.
