James E. “Jim” “Junior” Kelly, 60, of Altoona, died early Tuesday afternoon at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Rose Marie (DeWitt) Kelly.
He married Sherri Ann Stehley on Nov. 21, 1987, in Altoona. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2019.
Surviving are three sons: Dennis J. Stehley (Jessica) of Altoona, James F. Kelly of Coalport and Joshua J. Kelly (Kayla) of Altoona; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Donna Vanatta (Bill) of Hollidaysburg; two brothers, Charles E. Kelly Jr.
(Cheryl) of Greenwood and Gene P. Kelly (Carol) of Indiana; and numerous extended family members.
Jim was previously employed as a professional truck driver for various local companies.
He enjoyed his motorcycle, playing basketball, camping, playing softball, trips to the beach and music concerts. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., with Pastor Duane J. Coy officiating.
Entombment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
