George R. McKnight, 67, Mount Union, passed away peacefully on Saturday at the Embassy of Huntingdon Park. He was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Betty (Hobble) McKnight.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert McKnight Jr.
Mr. McKnight is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Black) McKnight; and his former wife, Greta Bookwalter; sons, Ashley and Justin Worthy; daughters, Lisa Hollis and husband, "12 o'clock Chuck," and Wendy Worthy and partner, Dennis; a sister, Kathy McKnight; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool with the Raystown Country Pool League. He loved mountain rides and working with his hands. George could often be found "shooting the bull" with whomever would participate, he loved the playful banter.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Aug. 15, 2026, at the Redbud Picnic Shelter at Seven Points.
