Franklin Bernard Ball

Franklin Bernard Ball, 90, of Lynchburg, Va., formerly of Claysburg, passed away Sunday. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Born in Maryland, he was a son of the late George William Ball and Grace (Dively) Ball.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Franklin B. Ball Jr.
Franklin retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Command Sergeant Major, having served in Vietnam.
He was a member of Claysburg Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Sally (Hoenstine) Ball; a son, Thomas Ball (Shari); daughter-in-law, Alice Ball; sister, Gloria Rinker; four grandchildren: Austin Ball (Katie), Andrew Ball, Jeremy Ball (Megan), Joseph Ball (Paige); and four great-grandchildren: James, Franklin, Paxton and Addison.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
