Donna J. Claar, 85, of Claysburg, passed away Thursday at home. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Russell J. and Goldie (Diehl) Smith.
She married Dwayne W. Claar on June 20, 1956, in Cumberland, Md. He passed away on April 29, 2025.
Surviving is a son, David Claar (Nicole); five grandchildren: Jordan Claar (Tiffany), Brittney and Emmeline Claar, and Mason and Emily Dively; four great-grandchildren: Vivian, Charlene, Emelia and Lochlan; a sister, Darlene Wessner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Alan Claar; a sister, Betty; and two brothers, Mervin and Robert.
Donna was a member of Upper Claar Church of the Brethren.
She retired from Butterick Co. Inc. after 40 years and then worked at Wessner’s Claysburg Manor.
Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Monday, June 8, 2026, at Harry E. Miller Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 810 Bedford St., Claysburg, with Pastor Mark Wyland officiating.
Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
