Dennis L. Haney

Dennis L. Haney, 84, of Altoona passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Robert R. and Ethel M. (Fleck) Haney. He married Wilma (Whetstine) in 1981.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years; three nieces: Susan Haney and husband Darryl of Hollidaysburg, Dr. Carol Haney-Bushey and husband Michael of Dillsburg, and Laura Vonya in Florida; two nephews, Robert and wife Peggy of Hollidaysburg and Curtis and wife Bobbi of Hollidaysburg. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Tracy Skipper and husband, Cloyd Eric, and Nancy Rader and husband, Michael; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Stanley.

Dennis graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1960 and retired as a carpenter from Robert R. Haney Inc. after 40-plus years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.

He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he helped with carpentry projects.

Dennis enjoyed spending time with his neighbor, Ron Osmolinski.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona.

Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
