Tory Kane Datres
May 22, 1987 – April 28, 2026
Tory Kane Datres, 38, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at UPMC Presbyterian. He lived a life marked by his deep love for family, the outdoors and the simple joys that brought him peace.
Tory was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and a proud combat veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 2005-09. His service to his country was a meaningful and defining part of his life.
Tory was the beloved son of Gina and Paul Datres; a devoted father to his three children: Gary, Bentley and Lilly; and the cherished brother of Desiree Weyandt (William) and Scott Bishop (Heather); and Matt Sipes, his brother-in-law. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Gloria Betar and Pinky Newberry; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Tory was preceded in death by his grandparents: Clair and Dorothy Kreps, Norman and Judith Datres and Sam Newberry; as well as his nephew, Hayden Bishop.
Tory found his greatest happiness in nature. Whether riding his four-wheeler and feeling free and connected to the land, camping under the stars, fishing by the water, or sitting around a fire, he embraced the outdoors with a deep sense of peace and appreciation. He also enjoyed shooting pool and spending time with friends and family, always bringing a calm presence and a genuine heart to those around him. His smile and laugh were contagious.
Tory’s love for his children, family and friends was evident in all he did. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
There will be no public viewing or funeral. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
