The Rev. Bernard Francis “Bernie” Tickerhoof TOR, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, was called home to the Lord on Sunday at the age of 75.
Born in Johnstown, Father Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, David and Magdalen Ann (Ruth) Henry.
He is survived by his brother, Father David Tickerhoof TOR; sister, Ruthayn Tickerhoof; brother, Gerald Tickerhoof; friends; and his Franciscan community.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Saint Francis Friary at Mount Assisi in Loretto. A Vigil prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Saint Francis Friary with the Very Rev. Joseph Lehman TOR as principal celebrant. After the Mass, interment will take place at the Franciscan Friars’ Cemetery on the campus of Saint Francis University, Loretto.
