Richard K. McCune

Jan. 25, 1944 – April 28, 2026

Richard K. McCune, 82, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late James A. and Mary L. (Probst) McCune.

He married Darlene R. McCune on May 6, 1967.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Darlene; three children: daughter, Beth A. Johnson (Rabon); daughter, Jennifer K. DiAndreth (Pastor Mark); and son, Brian R. McCune (Shelley); three grandchildren: Zachary L. DiAndreth (fiancee, Becca), Carina D. Johnson and Dominic M. DiAndreth; and a sister, Susan L. McCune.

Mr. McCune was a member of Alliance Church Hollidaysburg.

He was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School, and a 1966 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in chemical engineering.

Richard retired from Appvion Paper Mill, Roaring Spring, as a pulp mill process engineer/chemical engineer.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, at Alliance Church Hollidaysburg, 183 Jefferson St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Vince Eilenberger and Pastor Mark DiAndreth co-officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park.

Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.
