Margaret E. ‘Peg’ Baney

Margaret E. “Peg” Baney, 92, of Tyrone died Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone. She was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Altoona a daughter of the late Andrew and Hilda May (Haley) Anderson. She was married June 15, 1957, to Donald L. Baney, who died May 25, 2017.
She is survived by sisters, Eileen Latchford (Bill) of Lewistown and Mary Ann Bordner of Kensington, Md.; a brother, Andrew Anderson (Susan) of Holiday, Fla.; nephews, David Lewis (Marcia) of Tyrone and Jim Lewis (Robyn) of Virginia; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise; and a brother, Bruce Anderson (Diane) of Orlando, Fla.
She and her husband, Donald, operated the Baney’s Flowers and Gifts in Tyrone for many years. Peg was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club for more than 50 years.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Blair Memorial Park, with the Rev. James House officiating.
