Jay S. Delozier, 85, formerly of Altoona, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of May 11, 2026, in Kissimmee, Fla., surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Jay lived a life defined by hard work, dedication and unwavering love for those closest to him.

Jay was preceded in death by his beloved parents; his 13 cherished siblings; and his daughter, Debra A. Delozier, who passed away on Dec. 7, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Fran (McKnight) Delozier, whose partnership and devotion were the foundation of their family. Jay also leaves behind his daughter, Patricia (Geoffrey) Mouen, of Celebration, Fla.; his daughter, Michele (Miguel) Torres, of Charleston, S.C.; and his son, William “Buddy” (Gina) Delozier, of Bonita Springs, Fla. Jay was a proud and deeply loved “Pappo” to his seven grandchildren: Brittany Torres, Emily Hunter, Timothy Delozier, Hunter Diggins, Grafton Mouen, Caitlin Mouen and Abby Diggins. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Chloe Torres Nelson, Ava Hunter, Asher Hunter, Cooper Delozier, Haisley Delozier and Catalina Torres Troncoso. Jay also leaves behind a village of extended family, nieces and nephews across the United States who loved him dearly and will cherish his memory always.

Born and raised in Altoona, Jay spent his life building not only structures, but a legacy of perseverance and commitment. As a dedicated construction manager, he worked throughout the Southeastern United States helping shape communities through his craftsmanship and leadership. He moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C., where he played an important role in the development of Rose Hill Plantation. Following that accomplishment, Jay became the owner and operator of Low Country Air in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Later in his career, he traveled extensively throughout the Southeastern United States overseeing large-scale commercial construction projects.

Though Jay’s career accomplishments were many, his greatest pride was always his family. He was a steady presence, a provider, a storyteller and a source of strength and laughter for generations who loved him deeply. Jay will be missed beyond words and remembered always with love, gratitude and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather in the Saint Rose of Lima Community Room for light refreshments and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Jay’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
