Jacqueline A. ‘Jackie’ DelGrosso

Jacqueline A. “Jackie” DelGrosso, 95, Altoona, entered into eternal rest on Friday at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born Altoona, daughter of the late Mary (Cataldo) and Thomas DelGrosso.

Surviving are her loving sister, Sister Paula DelGrosso; a niece, Brenda Green; great-nephews: Jeremy Green, Jordan Green and Aftyne Green; a great-niece, Autumn Green; a special friend and cousin, Patty Trexler; and a special friend, Sister Pauline Kawtoski.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her loving sister, Grace Good.

She graduated from Lock Haven University Teacher College with a degree in education. Jackie taught at Hollidaysburg Area School District until her retirement in 1990, when she began working as the main cook at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, which she did for many years.

Jackie was Catholic by faith and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. She loved golfing at Park Hills Country Club and won the women’s championship there many times. She was also an avid bowler.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Santella Funeral Home, 1106 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a prayer vigil for the deceased will be held at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jacqueline’s name may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 2201 Union Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
