Gary L. Scriever

He was born June 27, 1949, in Hagers­town, Maryland, a son of the late Reed Scriever and Laura Shaw. In 1973, he married the former Kay Seville in Whips Cove Tannery, Pa., sharing more than 50 years of marriage together.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Kay Scriever; a daughter, Tara Dunio and husband, Stephen; a cherished granddaughter, Gia Dunio; a brother, Greg Yost and wife, Mary Ann; aunts, Bonnie Ward and Helen Layton; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was a 1967 graduate of Hancock Senior High School in Maryland and later attended Hagerstown Junior College. He worked for Lowe’s as a store manager until his retirement in 1996. Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Corvettes and most of all, spending time with his family.

Friends and family will be received from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona.

Interment will be at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
