Doris E. Marquette, 86, of Altoona, died May 3, 2026, at Maple Heights Health and Rehab Center, Ebensburg. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Donald Stitt and Jennie (Weyandt) Stitt Manochio.
She married James W. Marquette on Aug. 13, 1962, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death March 9, 2023.
Surviving are two children: daughter, Lissa A. Huber; and son, James H. Marquette II, both of Altoona; two grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Marquette (Ricky Courtot) in
Maryland and James W. Marquette II, currently serving in the United States Navy onboard the USS Gerald R. Ford; great-granddaughter, Magnolia W. Courtot-Marquette; former daughter-in-law, Krista L. Kyle; and former son-in-law, Ron P. Huber.
Doris was a 1959 graduate of Altoona High School.
She enjoyed oil painting, adult coloring, gardening, bird watching and family beach trips to Beach Haven, N.J.
Doris loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, Magnolia, with all her heart.
A memorial service is planned for a future date, notice of which will be announced in the Altoona Mirror.
