Darlene L. Negri, 87, of Altoona, entered into eternal rest on Monday surrounded by her family at Lorien Columbia Nursing Home in Columbia, Md. She was born in Harrisburg to the late Theresa (Tezak) and Thomas E. Hoffman.
In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, John M. Negri Sr., who passed in 2019; her siblings, Thomas Hoffman and Ronald Hoffman; and a son-in-law, Walter Figaniak.
Darlene is survived by her loving children: John (Judy) Negri Jr., Michelle Figaniak and Theresa (Emory) Gargon; her brother, Robert Hoffman; six grandchildren: Andrew, Alexandra, Victoria,
Nicholas, John III and Tyler; and 11 great-grandchildren: Gianna, Fordham, Vivianne, Case, Emma, Talley, Elliot, Adelyn, Elsie, Ozzy and Evelyn.
Darlene was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Altoona. She married her husband, John, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Feb. 16, 1956.
Darlene was a homemaker, an excellent cook and baker. She loved to crochet blankets for everyone and was a skilled seamstress.
A private funeral Mass will be held for family, with interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home, Altoona.
