Theodore L. ‘Ted’ McKillip Sr.

He was born Altoona, son of the late Mildred F. (Piper) and William W. McKillip.

Surviving are his loving wife, Janice M. (Fanale), whom he married almost 71 years ago on June 4, 1955, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Altoona; his loving daughters: Kathy McKillip, Theresa (Jeff) Trude,

Patricia (Dave) Applas and Ann (Scott) Wyland; his siblings, Dona Bardell and James (Joan) McKillip; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving son, Theodore “Bud” McKillip Jr.; his sister, Judith Keller; and his brother, Robert McKillip.

Ted was a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School and shortly thereafter went to work as a sales manager for Newborn Enterprises. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He very much enjoyed being involved in his church. He was a choir member, served on parish counsel and always assisted in various other church functions throughout his life.

Ted loved hunting, fishing, bowling and watching sports, especially the Steelers, Pirates and Penn State. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2716 Broad Ave., Altoona. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery.
