Sharyn A. Askey-Kemberling

She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Catherine C. (Crum) and Silas N. Ringler Sr.

Sharyn is survived by her loving children: Ed (Sandy) Askey of Johnstown, Rick (Daelle) Askey of Gallitzin and Tammy Askey of Altoona; her loving grandchildren: Eddie, Phillip, Nathan, Tamera, Catherine, Gary, Nicholas, Crystal, Danielle, Jasmine, Ricki, James Jr. and Megan; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sharyn is preceded in death by a loving son, Gary Askey; and her brothers and sisters: Catherine, Silas Jr., Charlotte, June, Sara, Johanna, John, Donna, Dave and Phil.

Sharyn recently retired from working at Dollar General as a cashier which she greatly enjoyed.

She was Christian by faith and loved spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed Bingo and loved solving different puzzles.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the funeral home, Pastor Sonya McNeal officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Catfish Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in Sharyn’s name to the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
