Mary was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked at Sylvania during war time, was a sales clerk in the toy department at SH Kress Co., and worked plucking chickens.

Mary was a lifetime member of St. Mark Catholic Church.

Her most beloved interests were faith, church and family — her loving husband, five children, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was an avid reader, especially of mysteries; able to play many bingo cards at once; happy listening to polka music; enjoyed seek-a-word books, lottery scratcher tickets and often played three casino slot machines at once. She assembled tons of jigsaw puzzles, framing many and gifting them to family and friends. She was also an excellent cookie baker, making thousands of cookies for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and parties. Mary loved her daily calls from Lori, her granddaughter, to work on solving lots of word games and jumbles. Often you would find her watching her favorite sports teams: the Steelers, Pirates, Penn State football and girls volleyball.

Mary was a member of St. Mark Kitchen Association, Knights of St. George Auxiliary and Christian Mothers’ Association. She was a room mother at St. Mark School and an election board judge for 45 years.
