Laura Lynn Leighty

Laura is survived by her two sons, Levi Leighty (and his father, Travis Leighty), and Jaxon Helsley (and his father, Brian Helsley); her parents; a brother, Brent (Kristina) McIntire; nephews, Colton and Camden; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Lee Kuny Jr.; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Beverly McIntire; paternal grandparents, William and Theresa Kuny; and an uncle, Brian McIntire.

Laura was a 2013 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a graduate of Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. She was employed as a medical assistant at Altoona Arthritis and Osetoporosis Center. She loved her job, her bosses and her co-workers.

Laura’s smile and laughter would light up a room. She loved spending time and making memories with her family. She cherished her two sons, who were her whole world.

Laura had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Even in her passing, she continued to help others by being an organ donor, giving other families more precious time with their loved ones.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A celebration of her life will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Stuart officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
