Judy A. Yon, 83, of Altoona, died Wednesday evening at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona, after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late H. Merrill and Ferma N. (Kerlin) Morgan.
On July 31, 1968, she married Paul C. “Bud” Yon in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death April 20, 2025.
Surviving are a daughter, Michele L. “Micki” Yon of Altoona; a daughter-in-law, April K. Narehood of Altoona; three grandchildren: Casey Hartman (Justin) of Bellwood, Tyler Narehood (Natasha) of Madera and Colton Narehood (Amanda) of Altoona; five great grandchildren: Maliya, Jonah, Landon, Tucker and Ella; six nephews; and three nieces.
Judy was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul II; an infant daughter, Jacqueline; a son, Kim Narehood; and a brother, Jack Morgan.
She was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School and then graduated from the Altoona School of Commerce.
Judy was employed in the clerical department of Puritan/Warnaco, followed by many years with Dr. Harry Penny and Blair Medical Associates/UPMC.
The most meaningful thing in Judy’s life was her love and connection to her family and friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor David Way officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
