Della “Sis” Whysong, 96, Imler, passed away on Saturday at her residence.

She was born in Queen, daughter of the late Melvin and Jeannette (Burket) Claar. On May 15, 1954, she married Robert W. Whysong. He passed away Jan. 4, 2021.

She was a second mom to many and is survived by many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack M. and Melvin “Tommy” Claar.

Sis was a 1947 graduate of Claysburg High School and a member of Mt. Zion Church in Pavia. Her husband owned and operated Bob’s Used Cars in Duncansville from 1952 until 2021, where she assisted him, but was primarily a homemaker and worked at Sylvania for a few years. She volunteered at Nason Hospital Snack Bar for many years.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing and private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Bob, at Pavia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Mt. Zion Church, Pavia.
