William J. Ickes, 64, of Altoona, passed away March 15, 2026. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph B. and Joan B. (Carbo­nitti) Ickes.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy (Hewitt) Ickes.

Surviving are his daughter, Brooke Snowberger; three grandchildren: Kylie Graham, Andrew Snowberger and Aaron Snowberger; three great-grandchildren: Remington, Kymberlee and Roxanne. Also surviving are his two brothers, John and Brian Ickes; and his sister, Linda Sanders.

William was a 1979 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

He was employed with the Iron Workers Local Union No. 3.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
