Virginia Mae ‘Ginny’ Erb

She married the love of her life, John Daniel Erb, on Oct. 7, 1950, and they were married for 40 years until his passing in 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn (Tom) Mathias and Sharon (Kevin) McKnight; her sister, Nancy Baker; five grandchildren: Matt (Kait) Mathias, Sarah (Tyler) Piper, Adam (Lindsey) Mathias, Jared (Bartley Taylor) McKnight and Kristen (Mike) Burns; 10 great-grandchildren: Max, Nina and Theo Piper, Genevieve, Gloria and Louie Mathias, Rosie and Evie Mathias and Riley and Ginny Burns; and many nieces and nephews.

Ginny loved and cared deeply for her family. She also loved the town of Hollidaysburg and was deeply involved in the community her entire life. She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, Class of 1947. She was a member of many organizations, including the Women’s Navy League, Sylvan Hills Women’s Golf League and the Blair County Realtors Association. She was a lifelong, very active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hollidaysburg.

Ginny started working in real estate when she was 16 and became the first female broker in Blair County. She started her own real estate agency, Erb Real Estate, which she ran for more than 23 years. She finally retired from real estate at the age of 90.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Bowman officiating.

Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
