Russell N. Whetstine Jr., 86, of Duncannon, died Sunday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Russell N. Sr. and Dorothy M. (Shultz) Whetstine.
On Aug. 21, 1959, he married Kathy N. Baker in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Timothy Scott and Kevin Russell Whetstine; two grandchildren, Kristi Herring and Kyle Whetstine; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Ernest E., Betty Evans and Janet Cherry.
Russell retired as an equipment operator at U.S. Steel, Levittown, and also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Duncannon Church of God.
Russell enjoyed fishing and traveling throughout Pennsylvania.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the funeral home, with Pastor Sam Oradat officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
The family suggests that contributions in his memory be made to Duncannon Church of God, 2 Muhlenberg Ave., Duncannon, PA 17020.
