Roy S. Weyant, 76, of King, passed away Friday at UPMC Presbyterian. He was born in Rock Hill Furnace, son of the late Edgar Myrl and Anna Mary (Hoenstine) Weyant.

On Oct. 2, 1970, in Winchester, Va., he was united in marriage to Diane Eicher.

Surviving are his wife; daughters: Jennifer Erdman and husband, Daniel, of West Middlesex; Shannon Davis of Altoona; and Elizabeth Smith and husband, Travis, of Hopewell; eight grandchildren: Jeffrey Davis, Kala Wooten, Dariann Romian, Dalton Davis, McKenzie Erdman, Sidney Davis, Avery Smith and Colton Smith, two great-grandchildren, Adelynn Davis and Jeffrey Davis Jr.; two sisters, Yetta Ruth Bengtson in Florida and Mary Ann Merryman in Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Davis.

Roy was a 1967 graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, N.M., and received a bachelor of science in education from Bethel University in Mishawaka, Ind.

He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Leonard S. Fiore in 2012 after 28 years of service.

Roy was a member of the Martinsburg and Hopewell Sportsman’s Clubs. He enjoyed hunting, coin collecting, short track racing sports and going to gun shows, flea markets and auctions. Roy’s greatest pleasure though, was spending time with his grandkids.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, March 21, 2026, with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.
