Patricia Louise ‘Pat’ Oakes Allen

Patricia Louise “Pat” Oakes Allen, 93, died Wednesday. She was born on her grandparents’ farm in Jack’s Corner, Pa. Pat was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She had seven children: Laurel and Lisa Whitaker, Tricia Allen, Jennifer Ballin (deceased), Shawn Whitaker (deceased) and Shane and Tracey Allen; and several grandchildren. We will miss our Mom, our Granpatty: a smart, courageous, determined and funny woman who could be a “bit curmudgeonly” but was the rock on which we could stand.
