Nova R. Brubaker

March 2, 1934 – March 10, 2026

Nova R. Brubaker, 92, of Altoona, formerly of Duncansville and Canan Station, entered her heavenly home early Tuesday afternoon at her residence, with her son by her side. She was born in Cross Keys, Duncansville, the daughter of the late Ord G. and Lista C. (Hoover) Brubaker.

On July 9, 1955, in Roaring Spring, she married Harold W. “Jase” Brubaker, who passed away on April 4, 2012.

Surviving are her son, Ronald W. of Altoona; numerous nieces, nephews and their extended families; and a very dear and faithful friend, Annette Romani, of Altoona.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Clifford E., Elwood G., Elvin W., Regis E. and Brice D.; and a sister, Reta Jane.

Nova was a member of Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, Duncansville, where she taught Sunday school for several years. She attended Leamersville Grace Brethren Church in later years.

She was a homemaker most of her life, but in her earlier years, she worked at the former Brown Brother’s Potato Chip Factory and Puritan Sportswear, both in Altoona.

Nova was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, Class of 1952.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg; and from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral service at noon Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Carson Valley Church of the Brethren. Private interment will follow at Carson Valley Cemetery.
