Zemleduck

Katherine Irene "Kay" Zemleduck, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at the age of 96.

Katherine was born in Slickville, Pa.; the daughter of the late Frank and Carmella (Macri) Mediate.

Katherine was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg. She spent many years working as a beautician at Gable's in Altoona and Crystal's Beauty Shop.

Katherine was the heart of her family and lived a life full of love. She was a devoted sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Katherine loved reminiscing about the good times and honoring family traditions. She never let her age dictate her spirit.

Katherine had a passion for cooking, baking, dancing, shopping and listening to Polka music. Some of her happiest moments were spending time with her siblings and family in Pittsburgh, spending winters sunbathing in Georgia with her daughter, watching Wheel of Fortune nightly with her son, attending picnics and reunions, playing cards and Rummy, following her daily soaps on the television and hosting Sunday dinners.

She will always be remembered for her signature red lipstick and fingernails and her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. Whether it was a dinner, holiday or family gathering, she never let anyone leave hungry and always had a way of turning everything into a celebration.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul "Zebe" Zemleduck; her brothers: Anthony Mediate, Joseph Mediate, Domenic Mediate and Bruno Mediate; and her sister, Mary Chopp.

Katherine is survived by a brother, Paul Mediate; sister-in-laws, Mary (Moe) Mediate and Cindy Mediate; a daughter, Barbara Renshaw and her husband, Mike Renshaw; a son, Paul Zemleduck; four grandchildren: Travis Renshaw and his wife, Viviana Renshaw; Nichole Carroll and her husband, Samuel Carroll; Matthew Renshaw and his wife, Nina Renshaw; and Christopher Zemleduck and his wife, Alicia; and four great-grandchildren: Carter Zemleduck, Laina Renshaw, Emilee Zemleduck and Ella Renshaw.

Katherine will be deeply missed and forever loved. Her strength and legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of those she cherished.

In her honor, do not grieve in solitude, but let her spirit live on in the moments you share. Carry her with you in shared stories, laughter and gatherings, whenever you dance and in every "hint" of red you wear.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26,2026, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
