John Michael Dziabo

March 6, 1944 – March 18, 2026

John Michael Dziabo, 82, of White Hall, Md., passed away March 18, 2026, at his home.

He was the beloved husband of Audris Dziabo. In addition to his wife, John is survived by daughters, Renee Mathews (Brian) of Delta, Pa., and Colleen Hildt (Kenneth) of White Hall, Md.; sons, Matthew Dziabo of Cresson and Christopher Dziabo of White Hall, Md.; and four grandchildren: Hayley and Brooke Mathews and Mackenzie and Dylan Hildt. He is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Roberts (Frank) of Reading and Dana Marcy of Camp Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Michele Dziabo of New Freedom; and an infant brother, Joseph.

Born March 6, 1944, to the late Edward and Elizabeth Dziabo (nee Olson) in Gallitzin, he grew up nicknamed Jack. A lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, he attended and watched Steelers and Pirates games regularly. He had long careers at both Westinghouse and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. He was drafted into the Army in 1965, and also served in the Air National Guard for decades. Jack loved the camaraderie shared with his Guard friends. He loved American cars, particularly Oldsmobiles. He had a curious mind, whether reading news, chit-chatting with all sorts or spending time in his yard. Jack loved his family most of all. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate John’s life at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. with a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
