Neeley

Joan Elaine Neeley, 74, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clyde and Elizabeth (Kunsman) Piper. She was united in marriage to Carl Neeley for 55 years.

Along with her husband, she is survived by children: Brenda Horvath, married to Scott; and Mark Neeley, married to Jill; grandchildren: Kristin Neeley, Kaelyn Neeley, Kara Neeley, Brannon Shaw, Scott Horvath Jr. and Shannon Horvath; sisters: Patricia Glunt, Gail Granville and Wendy Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was a 1969 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. After high school, she went on to work in accounting, working for various companies and most recently for Horvath Chemical and Supply and Spill Tech. Although working was a passion of Joan’s, she also cherished camping trips to Raystown Lake, where she would play cards and games and get warm by the fire. Whether enjoying a quiet picnic, working with dedication, baking something sweet or settling in with a good book, she embraced each day fully and was extremely giving.

As the former owner of Cookie Grams, she shared warmth and kindness through homemade treats that touched many lives. She also found delight in teaching her grandchildren how to bake.

Friends will be received from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, Pastor John Leatherman officiant.
