James C. Plazek

James C. Plazek, 87, of Cresson, died Sunday. He was born in Cresson, son of the late Walter and Mary (Conrad) Plazek. James was also preceded in death by seven siblings. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; children: James, Karen and Kevin Plazek, Cindy Eckenrode and Joseph Plazek; several grand­children; and brothers Ted (Theresa) Plazek and Leo Plazek. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Gallitzin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson.
