Earl Francis Bressler, 77 of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was born in Tyrone on Oct. 30, 1948, the son of the late Francis Earl and Evelyn (Stroup) Bressler. On May 15, 1993, at Church of the Good Shepherd in Tyrone, he married Jean A. (Medasie) Bressler, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter: Carol Sue (David) Gray; four grandchildren: Robert A. Smith, Kayla M. Smith, Mercedes AJ Robinson, and Cheyanne PL Bilbay; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Connie Seavey. Along with his parents, he was preceded by a sister Margaret “Peggy” Bressler Moyer.
Earl was a 1966 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. Following school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. He worked as a mechanic in his early years at Dean Patterson’s before he began working at Jean-O’s Pizzeria, where he met his wife, and after they were married, helped her run the business. After selling the business, Earl worked at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park and enjoyed it very much.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a Rotarian, a former member of the Jaycees and he volunteered behind the scenes at the Tyrone Food Bank.
He enjoyed classic cars, playing volleyball, watching high school sporting events (especially basketball), and more than anything, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. James House officiating.
