Dona J. Savine, 96, Altoona, passed away Thursday at her residence. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Maylon Andrew and Ilda (Ake) Merritts.
She married Henry J. Savine, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally Savine of Lewisberry; a grandson, Christopher Helsel of Harrington, Del.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Esther Heidler, Ruth Shelow, Grace Merritts and Marie Reilly; and a brother, George Merritts.
Dona enjoyed fixing things around her house and took great pride in her home and yard. She especially enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m., with Pastor Ken Beichler officiating.
Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
