Dec. 29, 1949 – March 1, 2026

Ricker

Debra Jean Ricker passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Newton Falls, Ohio, daughter of the late Eileen Hawk and William Marshall.

She was the beloved wife of James Ricker; and a devoted mother to her children: James Ricker Jr.; Jayme Bates and husband, Brad; and Kip Ricker and wife, Tracy. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Corbin Bates, Annie Stangland, Lia Claire Bates, Lilith Ricker and Ezra Ricker; and a great-grandmother to Timmy Stangland. Also surviving are her sisters, Meredith Monteville and Karen Tellinger; her brother, William Marshall; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Debra was a woman who could do anything she set her mind to. Creative and capable, she had a special gift for hospitality and made everyone feel welcome. She loved gardening, baking, decorating cakes, sewing and creating beautiful Ukrainian eggs, art she joyfully shared by teaching women at her church. She also delighted in spending time playing with her grandchildren.

She also had a deep love for animals, especially raising birds, caring for her chickens and dogs and spending time in the sunshine with her ducks. Her life was marked by generosity, creativity, faith and a quiet strength that blessed all who knew her.

Mass was celebrated in her memory on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Ss. Simon and Jude Church, West Jefferson, Ohio.

Arrangements are by Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, Grove City, Ohio. Visit schoedinger.com to share a special memory or extend condolences.
