Stephen T. “Steve” Pearson, 81, of Duncansville, passed away Sunday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home. He was a son of the late John and Dorothy (Gill) Pearson.

He was united in marriage to the former Patricia “Patty” (Koch) Pearson.

Along with his loving wife of 58 years, he is survived by a daughter, Suzanne M. Gati, married to Peter, of Duncansville; a sister, Barbara L. Orr, married to David, of Wake Forest, N.C.; grandchildren: Peter A. Gati, Alexandra D. Louden (Andrew), Zachariah S. Pearson (Madison), Courtney G. Sellers (John) and Abigale H. Loucks (Eli); four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a son, Donald G. Pearson; and siblings: John “Jack” Pearson, Theresa “JoAnne” LoCicero, Donna M. Montenegro, Lois A. Mavretic and Dorothy “Gail” Pearson.

Steve graduated from Altoona High School, Class of 1963. After high school, he went on to serve in the United States Air Force and United States Army during the Vietnam War.

After his service, Steve and his wife, Patty May, earned many Pastoral Degrees. Steve faithfully served his community for many years as a devoted pastor of Franklin Baptist Church in Franklinville, N.J., sharing his unwavering faith and compassionate heart with all who crossed his path, until his retirement in 2005.

After retirement, he found joy in singing hymns, traveling to new places, camping and cheering on his favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races on Sunday afternoons. Above all, he treasured time spent with friends and family.

Steve was known for his warm smile and signature greeting, “Are you saved?” His life was a testament to his deep faith, enduring love and joyful spirit.

Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, with Father Brad Baldwin officiating.

Full military honors will be rendered at the funeral home by The Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be held privately at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
