Michael Edward ‘Ed’ Bem

Michael Edward “Ed” Bem, 92, of Gallitzin, died Sunday. He was born in Gallitzin, son of the late Stanley and Caroline Bem. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Leona; and siblings: Walter, Bernard, Joseph, Felix, Edna, Tillie, Mary, Catherine, Eleanor and Dorothy. Surviving are children: Michael Jr., Joseph “Larry,” Richard, Kathy and Robert; and many grandchildren. Ed was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation is from 9 until 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home Inc., Gallitzin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
