Lewis B. Brubaker

April 28, 1947 – Feb. 2, 2026

Brubaker

Lewis Byron Brubaker, 78, of Roaring Spring, went to his Lord and Savior on Monday at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Roaring Spring, a son of the late Harry L. and Velma E. (Shoop) Brubaker.

On June 15, 1968, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church, he married Doris (Riley) Brubaker, his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Brent Brubaker and wife, Jill, and Rebecca Marko and husband, David. He was a grandfather to six children: Payton, Reagan and Donovan Brubaker, and Logan, Britton and Sophia Marko. He has three siblings: Harry Brubaker Jr. and wife, Violet, Dale Brubaker and wife, Dorinda, and Cathy Odroneic and husband, David.

Lew loved and valued his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his family, Lew loved taking long trips on his motorcycle with friends.

Lew was a 1965 graduate of Central High School and attended Williamson College of the Trades, in Media, Pa., where he earned an associate degree in carpentry and construction technology. The education he received there shaped not only his career but also his work ethic and lifelong pride in building things that would endure. He was an accomplished construction supervisor who oversaw many notable projects across central Pennsylvania.

Among the projects he was most proud of were the Mount Assisi Monastery, the 14-story Rainbow Condominium, and expansions at Saint Francis University, Mount Aloysius College and Penn State University. His final accomplishment, in his early 70s, was the construction of Phase II of Garvey Manor. These accomplishments stood as lasting reflections of his skill, perseverance and commitment to excellence. Lew took great pride in his work as a construction superintendent, and felt a deep responsibility for the people and communities his work would serve. His work will stand for generations to come.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at Grace Fellowship Church, Leamersville Campus; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at the church with Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Private interment at East Sharpsburg Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
