Letty B. Riley

Sept. 11, 1939 – Feb. 7, 2026

Letty B. Riley, 86, East Freedom, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday morning at her residence.

She was born in East Freedom, daughter of the late Donald R. and Grace M. (Yingling) Burns. On July 3, 1957, she married James K. Riley. He died July 25, 2009.

Surviving are four children: Stanley R. Riley of McVeytown, Thelma L. Riley-Dick and husband, Bradley, of East Freedom, Kelly S. Riley of East Freedom and James K. Riley Jr. and wife, Tracy, of East Freedom; seven grandchildren: Heather (Dan), Danielle, Brianna, Madison, Parker, Crystal (Brian) and Joey (Christie); 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey; and three siblings: Margaret Burns, Russell Burns and Karin Socie.

Letty was a 1957 graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She was a homemaker and “Jane” of all trades. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, where she had taught Sunday school and was a youth adviser. She was active for many years at Camp Mantowagon. She was also a member of the former North Woodbury Grange and then the Scotch Valley Grange.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, quilting and baking.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Grace Fellowship Church, Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be made at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Letty’s memory may be given to the Grace Fellowship Church Missions Fund.
