James E. Wheland, 81, of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. He was born in Bellefonte, son of the late Merle W. and Ruth L. (Lykens) Wheland.
James was a Class of 1962 graduate of State College High School and served his country as a member of the Air National Guard for six years.
He was a former member of Williamsburg Church of God.
James retired in 2004 after 37 years as a baler operator for The Fonda Group Inc., Williamsburg.
He enjoyed reading, working and time spent with his family.
Surviving are his brother, Donald E. Wheland (Margaret) of Williamsburg; brother, Norman M. Wheland (Doris Ann) of Williamsburg; and sister, Lois M. Galbraith (Ralph) of Hollidaysburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Williamsburg, with Pastor Paul Campbell officiating.
Interment will be at the Oreminea Cemetery.
