Fred I. Rutherford

He married Ethel O. Dunmire on May 27, 1950, in Cumberland, Md. She preceded him in death April 12, 2024.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Miller (James) of Altoona; and a grandson, Christopher (Trisha) of Gibsonia.

Fred was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Mr. Rutherford was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.

He was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School.

Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He retired as an industrial engineer from Conrail.

Fred was a member and Past Master of Logan Lodge #490, Free and Accepted Masons; a Noble of Jaffa Shrine, where he was a member of the Legion of Honor. He was also a member of the Jaffa Shrine Roadrunners, transporting numerous children to be treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations please be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children-Philadelphia, c/o Jaffa Shriners, 2200 Broad Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
