Francis E. Gurekovich Jr.

He was married to Darcy Anna (Leidig).

Surviving are his loving wife; and beloved daughter, Aubree Anna Gurekovich at home; and five grand­children. He is also survived by his siblings: Michael (Christine) Gurekovich of Tyrone, Patricia (Joseph) Yost of Roaring Spring, Karl (Kimberly) Gurekovich of Tyrone and Karen Gurekovich of Tyrone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Gail Gurekovich; brother, Christopher; and sister, Mary Alice Gurekovich; and sons, Jonathan and Daniel.

Francis was a 1974 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Most of his career was spent as an over-the-road truck driver.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and traveling with his wife and daughter.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone; and from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at the funeral home, with Father Michael Pleva officiating.

Interment with military honors will be held following the service at Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
