Frances M. ‘Tanny’ Graupensperger

Frances M. “Tanny” Graupensperger, 95, Duncansville, passed away Tuesday afternoon at The Winds at Mattern Orchard. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Garrety) Graupensperger.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Mike Dibert, Jane Liscio, John Dibert and Dianne Beck; and a very special niece, Susan Askey.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters: Mary Jo Sutton, Rosemarie Dibert and Carol Ann.
Tanny was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School, Mount Aloysius College and Juniata College.
After a few years of clinical laboratory work, she was employed as a biologist in the pharmaceutical industry, retiring from Wyeth Laboratories after
27 years of service.
In the early ’60s, she served her country for two years in the Peace Corps in northern Thailand.
Returning to her family in Altoona after her retirement, Tanny participated in many Elderhostel/Road Scholar programs, exploring the United States and Canada.
She enjoyed reading, birding, swimming, tennis and the great outdoors.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10 a.m.
Committal will be at
Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.
