Moyer
Diane Louise Moyer, 76, died Feb. 16, 2026, at her home in Altoona, after an 18-month-long battle with cancer. She died peacefully with her family. Diane was born to parents, G. Neal and Dottie Moyer.
She attended Wright Elementary School, then Keith Junior High and graduated from Altoona High School in 1967. She spent a year in computer school in Pittsburgh and later graduated from Penn State. She earned her master’s degree in family studies/counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Diane spent most of her career as a counselor, first with Home Nursing in Altoona and later with Pyramid, treating substance abuse issues. After retirement, she worked at Thompson’s Pharmacy, delivering medications to those who can’t get out themselves. She was a compassionate person and loved working to help others through life’s struggles. She was a dedicated sports fan, especially loving tennis and football. Go Penn State!
She earned a brown belt in Judo and, towards the end of her life, she enjoyed water aerobics. Her favorite place to be was along Raystown Lake, where we had a cottage as kids. We hiked, swam and canoed all summer long. She never lost her love for the area.
Diane is survived by her wife of more than 40 years, Julianne; their sons, Mike (Nickea) of Sacramento and Brian of Altoona; her sisters, Judy and Sue of Boise, Idaho; and grandchildren: Jackson and Lili of Sacramento.
She was preceded in death by her father, Neal Moyer, in 1976; and all her grandparents.
Diane and Julianne enjoyed traveling, making three cross country trips together. Their last long trip together took them to Boise, Sacramento and the many national parks in Utah. It was a wonderful trip.
Diane will be remembered by her family for her love, kindness and the care she gave all living things — her dogs, her garden, her plants and her 104-year-old mother.
The family is very appreciative of all the care and support from the staff at Gentiva Hospice, as well as for the warm and tender care Julianne and Brian provided her in her last months. There will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
