Carol Anne "Curl" Hite, 71, Carrolltown, passed away Monday at UPMC Presbyterian. She was born in Spangler, daughter of the late Rupert and Helen (Kline) Kirkpatrick.
On June 30, 1973, she married Gary R. Hite.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years; two sons, Craig Hite (Lois) of Pittsburgh and Michael Hite of Carrolltown; five sisters: Rose Kirkpatrick of Fredericksburg, Va., Millie Toth (Steve) of Culpepper, Va., Janet Campbell of Carrolltown, Norma Simanski (Ken) of Ashville and Mary Jane Grove of Ebensburg; a brother, Paul Kirkpatrick (Susan) of Ebensburg; many nieces and nephews; and loving dogs: Finley, Daisy, Loki and Abby.
Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Kirkpatrick.
She was a graduate of Cambria Heights and retired from Laurel Insurance Management after 48 years of service.
Carol was a devout member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.
She enjoyed reading, baking, crocheting, doing puzzles, wine tasting and collecting moose memorabilia.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home, 146 N. Main St., Carrolltown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
Additional visitation will be held in the Boniface Wimmer Room of St. Benedict Church from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral Mass Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, with Father Michael Gabler OSB officiating. Committal will be at St. Benedict Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Carol's memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 204 N. Main St., Carrolltown, PA 15722.
